The Impact of Phlebotomy and Hydroxyurea on Survival and Risk of Thrombosis Among Older Patients With Polycythemia Vera

Focusing on older adults with polycythemia vera (PV), a retrospective cohort study demonstrated that guideline-recommended phlebotomy and hydroxyurea are associated with improved overall survival and decreased risk of thrombotic events, despite both therapies being unused in this patient population.
