Enhanced Calreticulin Expression in Red Cells of Polycythemia Vera Patients Harboring the JAK2V617F Mutation

In this study researchers used a proteomic approach to compare the expression of proteins at the erythrocyte membrane between polycythemia vera and normal red blood cells. The study included 11 control blood samples and 20 polycythemia vera blood samples (8 women and 12 men) and 34 ET (25 women and 9 men) patients treated with low-dose aspirin. All patients with polycythemia vera were positive for JAK2V617F.
