Carolyn Grande, CRNP, AOCNP
Ms. Grande is an oncology nurse practitioner, educator and consultant specializing with 30 years of nursing experience in a variety of oncology settings. She is currently at the Abramson Cancer Center at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania working clinically in the Thyroid Cancer Therapeutics Program. Areas of particular interest include thyroid carcinoma, gastrointestinal malignancies, multifaceted-symptom management with emphasis on psychosocial/spiritual care and grief and bereavement.
Carolyn was the recipient of the Multidisciplinary Education and Practice Award from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Foundation in 2004 and the Rosalyn J. Watts, Nurse-Patient/ Family Relationship Award in 2002. She received her Master’s Degree from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Nursing in Philadelphia. She lectures on an extensive list of topics such as colorectal cancer, targeted therapies, symptom management, communication strategies, and spiritual assessment/care. She has published several book chapters and articles in peer-reviewed journals. She currently serves on the editorial board of the Journal of the Advanced Practitioner in Oncology (JADPRO).
Carolyn is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and is a Past-President of her local ONS chapter and also holds membership in neighboring ONS chapters. She is a member of ONS Special Interest Groups: Spiritual Care, Clinical Trials and Nurse Practitioner. She also is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
