Neutrophil Extracellular Trap Formation and Circulating Nucleosomes in Patients With Chronic Myeloproliferative Neoplasms

Data from a recently published study show that neutrophils from MPN patients, despite displaying in vivo activation and increased basal reactive oxygen species, are rarely prone to ex vivo neutrophil extracellular trap generation. In addition, the finding of elevated circulating nucleosomes was a prominent feature of this study, with higher levels being associated with advanced disease, and may represent a potential prognostic marker.
