ACTIVITY RATIONALE AND PURPOSE
More new molecular entities were approved for oncology/hematology than any other therapeutic class in 2013. Many of these agents target new pathways. APs need to be aware of recently approved agents, including their mechanisms of action, toxicity profiles, and appropriate use in the clinic. As more molecular targets are identified and more novel therapeutic agents are approved for different indications, APs must keep up with increasing amounts of complex
information to stay up-to-date in their clinical practice.
The activity’s target audience will consist of nurse practitioners, physician assistants, clinical nurse specialists, advanced degree nurses, oncology and hematology nurses, pharmacists, and physicians.
