Elizabeth S. Waxman, ANP-BC, RN, AOCN
Ms. Waxman received her BSN from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. She earned her MSN as a Clinical Nurse Specialist from Columbia University in New York, and also received her certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from Texas Woman’s University in Houston, Texas.
Her employment experience includes working at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center from 1985-1991. She relocated to Houston, Texas, in 1991 and has worked as an Advanced Practice nurse at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center ever since. She has worked in the Department of Lymphoma from 1991-1998, when she transferred to the Department of Thoracic/Head & Neck Medical Oncology.
Her interests in thoracic oncology include thymoma, small cell lung cancer, paraneoplastic syndromes, gene mutations, targeted therapy treatments, side effect management, and maintenance therapy for lung cancer.
She has had numerous presentations and publications on various topics, including prostate cancer, plasma cell dyscrasias, and lung cancer.
